April 20–28 observation data, source: JAXA
According to preliminary results from the Greenhouse Gases Observing Satellite Project (GOSAT), Charlotte is one of the top three CO2 hotspots in the country, along with Atlanta and New York City — at least during the period of observation shown above: April 20–28. These three American cities join cities around world, especially in China, India, Southern Europe, the Mideast and Africa, as having some of the highest measurable concentrations of CO2.
It should be emphasized these are only preliminary results from GOSAT. Time will tell if this data holds up after repeated observations.
