Uber is back in Charlotte, this time for good
Posted on 6 Sep 2013 by Matthew Tyndall
Uber is finally back in the Queen City! After a brief stint a year ago at the Democratic National Convention, Uber is now offering continuous service to Charlotte residents, and it all still works as quickly and easily as it did when we hung out with them last year.
After finishing up a pretty sizable round of financing ($258 million), Uber has begun a push into new markets, including, most recently, Hawaii.
Launching today in Charlotte, Uber has already picked up what they like to call “Rider 0″. Greg Olsen, one of Charlotte’s favorite Panthers, will be the first rider in the Charlotte market (minus all the politicians from a year ago).
Check out Uber.com, and grab the app for your smartphone. It’s pretty awesome.
