This weekend, a unique event takes place in Cornelius. This expo is dedicated to providing information about health, well-being, and natural living through understanding the connection between an individual’s mind, body and spirit. In its fourth year SHIFT Charlotte brings individuals and local businesses in the mind, body and spirit space together to connect and build a stronger community. The creator of the event, Lori Ives-Godwin, states that while the practices are not mainstream in the U.S., this event provides for the needs of those locally to exchange information.
Ms. Ives-Godwin, the owner of Your Community Connector, provides much of the information on these businesses on her website, but understands that communities need to be supported and this event provides that support. Vendors at SHIFT include yoga providers, chiropractors, and wellness coaches.
Jennifer Thompson, the owner of Sound Therapy Charlotte, says she will participate in SHIFT Charlotte for her second year because “it’s an fun and informative event for people who are looking for alternative ways to stay healthy and balanced.”One of her business’ services helps a person to relax and draws them into a deeper state of meditation through an assortment of different sounds. She says SHIFT Charlotte is crucial for providing education to the public about the benefits of her business and has allowed her to reach hundreds of new people.
The event is tonight and tomorrow at The Palace theater in Cornelius. Visit the SHIFT Charlotte website for more info and to purchase tickets.
