No need to suffer the perils of Wonka Vision to immerse yourself in a chocolate universe this Friday night: Charlotte’s International House is hosting The World of Chocolate—a tasting event that promises to give us a good chocolate fix with fine chocolates from around the world.
price: $10–15
date: Friday, June 13
time: 7–9:30 pm
Chocolatiers, both local and international, will be on hand serving up sensual pleasure (that’s right…it’s still legal to eat chocolate in public). In case you taste something you really like, chocolate will also be available for purchase.
Among the chocolatiers and distributors will be:
- Debbie’s Delights
- Godiva
- Johnson & Wales
- Leah Cuisine
- Salara Desserts
- Southpark Baskets
- Spicy Roses
- The Melting Pot
- Trader Joe’s
- Urbana Cityspa and Teabar
Sitting around tasting chocolate would probably be sufficient entertainment for most chocolate connoisseurs, but in the true spirit of chocolate decadence, the event will also bombard the senses with demonstrations, presentations, games, and a “chocolate raffle” whose proceeds will go toward International House programs and services. As a former International House volunteer, I give my personal seal of approval to this being a good cause, and, more enticingly, it looks to be a fun, mouth-watering time.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. To register, contact Laura Printz at 704 333 8099 or lprintz@ihclt.org. Space is limited, so RSVP soon!
Go get some chocolate and the go to one of the best shows of the year…
