Local band Flagship set to take sail

Music scene expectations are high as local Charlotte band, Flagship, returns home from a two month stint in Atlanta. While there, the group worked with indie producer Ben Allen (Animal Collective, Washed Out, Cee-Lo) to prepare what they hope to be their breakout album.
Since reforming in November of 2011, the band has been on the fast track of recognition, receiving interests from labels like Island, Columbia, and Warner Brothers.
The group eventually signed to indie label Bright Antenna, based out of San Francisco, and since have been kept busy on the road with acts like The Wombats, Walk Off the Earth, and Wolf Gang.
When not on the road, the group has been working on new songs and promo videos to help push their debut LP. Above is a video they self produced here in Charlotte, on one of their recent breaks, entitled Hollywood Underwater.
While no local shows are currently on the books, the band has promised there will be in the near future, saying:
Just let us get our feet back on the ground and get these songs sounding their best, then we’ll bring some of this music to the local scene.
So are they Charlotte’s next breakout band? You decide.
