Latest news on this awesome new rollout in Charlotte is they’ll be open and ready for the public as of 7 AM, August 1st.
They’re also throwing a kickoff event on Tuesday, July 31st at 7 PM @ Trade & Tryon, where 200 riders will take the bikes to their docks for the first time.
For all the stations, and how to sign up (only $65 a year!) check out charlotte.bcycle.com.

So glad B-cycle is finally here. We’ve used similar systems in Montreal (called Bixi). It’s a great system with some 400 stations throughout the city. Also found in several US cities.
B-cycle and Bixi are great if you need quick transportation for 30 minutes or less. But don’t use it if you need more time (rent a bike for a half day in that case). Also if there are only one or two bikes at the station make sure they are working before you deposit your money or you may lose it. We look forward to using B-cycle.
