Shahrazad Improv, which frequently performs at Wine Up and the Pineville Dinner Theater, seek to entertain the Charlotte community with the art of improvisational acting and comedy. In the process, they use the money they earn to help those in need—locally, and around the world, and have raised over $5,000 to date.
The troupe will be performing again Friday (April 17th) at 8PM in the new Dugg Dugg art gallery in NoDa. See our video interview, photos, and more below.
In addition to improvisation, several of the cast members are active in Charlotte’s local film scene. Erin Fede recently won a trip to the Sundance Film Festival after her film ¡Perfecto! was voted into the top spot of Project Direct. Chris Crutchfield’s short film FAIT is currently a finalist in the Doorpost Project.
It’s always nice to see the others in the Charlotte comedy community helping to get rid of the some of the bad karma caused by the rest of us for the things we think are funny.
Also, any joke at the expense of the population of Kentucky makes everyone else happy.
Saw these guys at Dugg Dugg last night and they were great! I hope to see another show… and to bring some more friends along!
