Belgate: Ikea’s new digs

A lot of people, including myself, don’t realize the extent of development around the new Ikea at University. The area will be called Belgate, and in their own words will eventually include “390,000 square feet of anchor stores, junior anchors and shops; 50,000 square feet of office-service space, 50,000 square feet of restaurants, 360 residential units and two hotels.”

    Great post! Went by there today and took a few shots… I love this place! Feb. 18 is supposed to be Ikea’s grand opening date. However I fear to enter its gates until after at least 2–3 weeks from opening. Don’t let the large parking lot fool you. :-)

    Great, more sprawl oriented development. Good thing they got rid of all those ugly trees. This town sucks.
