Parking info for Obama rally at UNC Charlotte

Some excerpts from an email just sent out to all UNC Charlotte students, faculty and staff regarding parking and driving tomorrow on campus in light of the Obama rally:

ENTRANCE ALERT: Vehicles entering campus on the day of the event, Monday, Nov. 3, should use the U.S. 49 main entrance, the John Kirk Rd. entrance, or the Mallard Creek Rd/Mary Alexander entrance.

PARKING ALERT: Parking lot 23, CRI One and CRI parallel north-side parking WILL BE CLOSED for the 24-hour period from Sunday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. until Monday, Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m. for ALL STUDENTS, FACULTY, AND STAFF.

Unless authorized, NO DRIVING will be permitted through these areas on the CRI campus.

ALTERNATE parking for ALL STUDENTS, FACULTY, AND STAFF will be relocated to Lots 25 and 26 directly adjacent to the Facilities Management and Campus Police building on Cameron Blvd. on the back side of campus. Trolleys will begin service to the CRI campus at 6:30 a.m. Monday morning, Nov. 3 and last until 7:30 p.m. Monday evening, Nov. 3. and will run constantly throughout from Lots 25 and 26 (across from Laurel Hall and adjacent to the Facilities Management / Police & Public Safety Building).

ANYONE OTHER THAN STUDENTS OR EMPLOYEES ATTENDING THE EVENT should be directed to park at the Verizon Amphitheater. Shuttles will take attendees to and from the event.

    Drove by CRI earlier today and there were a to of people setting up and organizing the event. A bunch of secret service also.

    So does anyone know if there is going booths where you can buy food and drinks?

    I really hope the weather holds out for this event. That Obama is holding this event in Charlotte the day before his possible election is incredible!
