Top 5 restaurant picks for Valentines Day

Adam Williams is Editor of Restaurant Traffic, one of Charlotte’s leading local food blogs. This is the first post of a series he’ll be contributing to CLT Blog, featuring some select local food information and recommendations, of which you’ll find immensely more of on his blog and on Twitter at @RestauranTrafic.

It is Valentines time. This means that you are bound by duty and tradition to dine on the finest white linen and drink the sweetest vino available. OK, maybe that is a stretch, but it is a great excuse to go somewhere special with someone special. Here are a few places that you can count on having a great and romantic experience that is sure to impress your mate.

Uptown: Coco Osteria

Augusto Conte’s Intimate gem gives the perfect setting for a special dinner out. Get a reservation ASAP, this place is tiny and fills up quickly.

V-Day Menu for two:

Dilworth: 300 East

What better intimate setting than a dimly lit historic house serving eclectic dishes in private booths.

Plaza Midwood: Bistro La Bon

This place is already getting copious amounts of hype, but it is all well deserved. Some dishes feel like edible art, some are simply straight forward and delicious. Don’t let the outside appearance fool you, the inside is a beautiful setting for a romantic meal.

Arboretum: New South Kitchen

I know a shopping center might not be your idea of a romantic get away. I promise once you get inside the doors of this South Charlotte eatery, you will be glad you came. Seriously, what could be more romantic than shrimp and grits with grateful growers sausage anyway.

NODA: Crepe Cellar

This place is becoming one of my favorite restaurants in town. I know you are supposed to eat light and stare longingly at your mate, but I can’t go in here without getting the pesto fries.

Wherever you and your main thang choose to dine on Valentines day, be sure to let us know!
