Hacker Fridays at HSC: join the fun!

Posted on 4 Feb 2011 by Raquel Vélez

Starting at 7:30 PM on Friday, February 4, Hackerspace Charlotte will be hosting its first ever Hacker Friday, a monthly event showcasing some of the things we’ve been working on over the last few weeks.

Every first friday of the month, in conjunction with NoDa’s ArtWalk, the members of Hackerspace Charlotte will be open for public tours, show-and-tell, and advice on technical questions.  For February, there will be some carbonated fruit and some door games as well!  Ever wonder what fun you could have with rare earth magnets?  Stop by to find out!

Hackerspaces are a relatively new concept in the US. A hackerspace is an open technology lab which forms the basis of a community to do cool things with stuff. Some of Hackerspace Charlotte’s projects range from a CNC machine, to locksport, UNIX, and programming classes, to our most recent achievement: mailing a cupcake to the Netherlands as a part of the Global Synchronous Hackerthon. Other than Hacker Friday, this Friday, check out the list of events on our website!

HSC is located between Davidson St and the Hart-Witzen Gallery on 36th St. See you Friday!
